Allergy Aid started out in 1989 – back then we were called Blueline to help hospitals identify our pillows as ones that could be laundered. Back then when nobody washed pillows, they normally had to throw them away once they were dirty.

In contrast our pillows were clearly boil washable, as the blue line marking showed – revolutionary stuff for our customers, who were healthcare based and were delighted to use a sterile product that stopped cross infection and was totally hostile to the house-dust mite.

Since we began we’ve received the endorsement of top medical academics. Dr Maunder at Cambridge University has been responsible for much of our testing, and believes that we offer “the only product that is genuinely hypo-allergenic.”

Our wash tests were carried out St James Hospital in Leeds, showing that they’d withstand an impressive 300 commercial washes. The Medical Devices Directorate has also tested our products, with results proving them to be one of the most durable products available. Even the American Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has put us through our paces.

Eventually we re-named the company to reach a wider audience. We believed that we could help a huge number of people direct, and the name Allergy-Aid said a lot more about what we offered, not just to hospitals, nursing homes and hotels but to allergy sufferers at home who could benefit directly from an improved quality of life.

Having started out with pillows, we’ve expanded by offering duvets, V-neck pillows and bolsters. We have received thousands of letters from people who are delighted with the allergy relief they’ve received as a result of using Allergy-Aid products – a natural solution free from the side effects of drug treatment.
