Allergy-Aid products are made from the finest quality featherproof Egyptian cotton. They do exactly what they say. Woven and finished so tightly that house dust mites will not penetrate them, they hold our unique patented specially treated goose and duck feather down filling, providing a totally hostile environment to the house-dust mite the major, cause of allergic reactions.

The bedding gives you comfort, high permanent loft, is non-allergenic and also anti-bacterial. No need to go to the laundry, just pop it into your washing machine at the hottest temperature (95°C) and tumble dry and /or line dry. We supply the NHS, Nursing Homes and the Hotel industry as well as our retail and mail order customers and you will also find us on TV.

All our products are suitable for Asthma, Eczema, Feather allergy and Allergic Rhinitis sufferers. They provide an alternative to harmful creams and drugs. Our products have been used successfully for over fifteen years after initial testing by The Medical Entomology Centre at The University of Cambridge and The Medical Devices Directorate of the NHS. Our products are Flame Retardant with a non-ignition rating (Crib 7). Unlike other feather products ours do not clump after washing, (commercially lasting over 300 washes, many many more when washed at home.) Our feathers absorb moisture which means you don’t wake up feeling that everything is slightly damp, after all we naturally lose about a litre of liquid over night. This means the skin doesn’t chafe and with the natural cotton your body heat is not reflected back to heat your skin which makes it itchy and liable to break and attract bacteria. Unlike similar synthetic products the feathers provide better temperature control. You do not need extra protective covers as washing at high temperature means you can kill off any bacteria and also remove any stains on the product. Because our pillows act as an additional filter to the nose and lungs as a benefit you could well find you will no longer snore.

Medical research has also shown an additional bacteriostatic effect of the feathers which may reduce infected flares of facial eczema. Our products are suitable for children from 5 years upwards.

Washing Instructions

All items including dog bed inner can be washed at up to 95ºC in a home washing machine and can be tumble-dried or line-dried as per the customer’s preference. This means that customers can wash at high temperatures which will kill bacteria and house dust-mite.The dog bed outer is made from Cordura which will last the lifetime of your dog. The pillows have been washed commercially over 300 times and retained their properties – washing in a home washing machine should give them an even longer life expectancy.

Construction

All the items are filled with specially-treated feathers, which provide an inhospitable environment for the house dust-mite. These feathers also have mild bacteriostatic properties, which means bacteria cannot breed within them. The feathers have excellent moisture absorption properties. During sleep we all lose approximately a litre of fluids through perspiration – our feathers absorb this moisture rather than leaving it sitting against the skin as synthetic fibres do which can cause skin inflammation and provide a breeding environment for bacteria. The feathers are also excellent at providing insulation allowing your body-temperature to be kept controlled throughout your sleep, helping you to sleep more comfortably.

The shell of these products is made from 100% Egyptian cotton which is flame retardant to Crib 7 Non-Ignition Rating. This is to a higher standard than is required for the NHS(Crib 5)!!!! Unlike most feather bedding our covers are woven incredibly tightly. This means that they will not allow feathers to poke through and they are so tightly woven that house dust-mites cannot penetrate the cover. This combined with the capacity to wash the goods at 95ºC means they can be easily sterilized.
